Loft Conversions

Conversion Types

Dormer Conversion – an extension to an existing roof that projects vertically from a sloping roof. This is the most common type of conversion and offers the most space inside the room.

Hip to Gable Conversion – Creating a conversion on hip roofed houses is a more involved process which includes changing the profile of the roof to create space. Planning permission may be required.

Mansard Conversion – This is a flat-roofed conversion in the back of the property and requires an involved process that will change the structure of your home. Almost all Mansard conversions require planning permission.

Rooflight Conversion – Perhaps the least invasive process, rooflight conversions are used when there is ample space available inside. Because the panel windows lay flush against the roofline, planning permission is seldom required.
